THE ZEN WRITER'S RETREAT

“Talent is helpful in writing, but guts are absolutely necessary.”
Jessamyn West

What are you waiting for?

Imagine…14 hours of relaxation with space and time totally focused on your creativity. You’ll be in the heart of Las Vegas where creative stimulation abounds, yet you’ll feel like you’re a million miles from any troubles, challenges or expectations.

What are you waiting for?

You have information that needs to be shared. It may be a story that will let others know they aren’t alone; it may change the way your audience looks at an issue; it may move people to laughter, tears and then action; it may inspire people to go from a place of mediocrity to excellence; or, it may bring them peace and joy. You have something to share in your unique voice.

What are you waiting for?

Maybe you’ve been asked to give a keynote; maybe everyone tells you that you need to write a book; maybe you’ve always wanted to give a TED talk; maybe you’re often asked to give short speeches like introductions or donor/employee appreciation awards; maybe you just took over as president of your favorite nonprofit board and you want to blow their socks off at the next meeting; maybe you want to be a blogger but keep resisting getting started; maybe your kids tell you that you should turn your bedtime stories into children’s books; and maybe—no, certainly-- everyone, absolutely everyone, says you need to share your story!

What are you waiting for?

Take a deep breath. Now imagine yourself with a small group of others who feel what you’re feeling—an unidentified fear or unexplained resistance. This time, though, it’s going to be different. No excuses. You’re in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. And you’re leaving with the book, speech(es) or blogs you’ve had in your subconscious for a long time. Out of your head, out of your heart, on paper and on the way to those who need and want to hear it. Finally. No more waiting!

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
Maya Angelou

You experienced trauma that has led to lessons.

If you share, others will benefit in ways you can’t imagine.

You gained knowledge about your industry that wasn’t taught in school.

If you share, you may help others be better service or product providers.

You lived a life that didn’t honor you or others until you decided to become a better version of yourself.

If you share and one other person becomes their best version, you’ve changed their world.

You have a unique method of organizing or leading or fill-in-your-blank.

If you share it, you’ll give others permission to find their unique style.

You have a decidedly different outlook than most on how philanthropy needs to be discussed.

If you share it, you could inspire a new world of givers.

You have been there, so you know what needs to be addressed regarding sex trafficking, prison reform, trauma-informed training, addiction, mental health, etc.

If you share, you will heal yourself a little more, and undoubtedly, you will help heal another.

You’re a parent, a sibling, a child, a significant other, a business owner, a boss, an employee, a co-worker, a peer, a spiritual being, a student of life or a dreamer of limitless joy.

If you share, you just might have hearts burst open in front of your very eyes.

What are you waiting for?

You’ll brainstorm, you’ll listen, you’ll write. You’ll laugh, you might cry (it’s so cathartic!), you’ll bond, and you’ll write some more. You’ll be surrounded, inspired and nourished by the group’s loving support.

9 AM - 4 PM

Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9

Limited to 10 participants

This one weekend could change your future.

$1,500 is the investment in yourself.

If I didn’t know from my personal experience how a well-written, well-prepared, authentically delivered piece of writing effects an audience, I wouldn’t encourage this.  But I do, so I am.

What are you waiting for?

You’re not! You know this is the time, this is the place. I’ll see you in June!

“Don't be intimidated by the vastness of your audience.

Imagine you are writing to a single reader.
I have found it helps to pick out one real person I know and write to that person."

John Steinbeck

Nurturing location to be shared upon registration!

Additional retreat details will be emailed to you in the weeks leading up to the scheduled date.

Messages to You from Previous Attendees

“I attended the most INCREDIBLE writing retreat facilitated by my dearest friend, Amy Ayoub. Guided by her wisdom and insight, as she gently pushed us into a space of expansion. We each became better a version of ourselves. What a gift!”
